In-Office Sedation

Virginia Beach Obstetrics & Gynecology is pleased to offer in-office sedation

We currently offer in-office sedation to patients undergoing thermal ablation and hysteroscopy, in-office sterilization procedure, and other types of surgery. The benefits of in-office sedation are:

• Your surgery is performed in the familiar surroundings of our office where our experienced staff always provide excellent care

• It's a safe alternative to general anesthesia in the hospital. With conscious sedation, you can avoid anesthetic gases and the need for a machine to breathe for you.

• The anesthesia for all of our office procedures is administered and regulated by a board-certified anesthesiologist at the bedside.

• Recovery from office-based surgery is much quicker than from hospital-based surgery.

• In many cases, the out of pocket costs are lower with in-office surgery than with hospital surgery. We will check your benefits for your specific plan, prior to the procedure.
