Permanent sterilization

We are pleased to now offer our patients an effective permanent tubal sterilization procedure that is performed in our office suite. If your family is complete, and you are tired of taking temporary birth control, then office sterilization may be right for you.

These procedures are different than the traditional method of a surgical tubal ligation.  There is no cutting into the body. Instead, the doctor inserts soft, flexible micro-inserts through the body's natural pathways and into your fallopian tubes. The procedure can be performed in our office without general anesthesia. Most patients report that the procedure is relatively painless, and can go back to the work the next day. After 3 months, your doctor will perform an HSG Confirmation Test, a special type of x-ray to confirm that your tubes are completely blocked and you can rely on the micro-inserts for birth control.

Unlike birth control pills, patches, rings, and some forms of IUDs, there are no hormones to interfere with your natural menstrual cycle. Talk to your doctor today for more information about these procedures. You may also visit the Essure or Adiana websites.
