Ilene Goldstein MD, FACOG

lene Goldstein MD is privileged to offer a complete range of obstetric and gynecologic services to adolescents and adults in Hampton Roads. She joined Virginia Beach Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009 and offers comprehensive services including well-woman evaluations, contraceptive counseling and management, medical and surgical management of gynecologic conditions including abnormal cervical cancer screening, abnormal bleeding, pelvic masses, endometriosis and menopause. Dr. Goldstein has a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery and is a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon since 2012. She can offer gender affirming surgery, including hysterectomy, oophorectomy to transgender patients. Dr. Goldstein also enjoys providing the complete management of pregnancy including management of infertility, preconception care, prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care. She serves as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, on the community faculty of the EVMS OBGYN Department, and is a member of the North American Menopause Society.

Dr. Goldstein earned her Bachelors degree from Brandeis University and her Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, both in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she was recognized with honors in research and teaching, and was awarded the “Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures” from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in 2010. Dr. Goldstein is the current Chair of the Women’s Health Service Line at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital where she provides obstetric and gynecologic services. She holds staff privileges at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, where she primarily focuses on Robotic Surgery and is the former Chair of the Robotics Steering Committee. Additionally, she performs minor gynecologic procedures at the Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Since her move from the big city, Dr. Goldstein can often be found walking in the surf with her husband, children, and her poodle, named Fancy.  She loves traveling, reading, live music and theater. Dr. Goldstein is looking forward to many more years providing care and creating special relationships with patients and families in Tidewater.
