Prenatal Care

Raegan Kotsko 001Welcome to Virginia Beach Obstetrics and Gynecology. We are so pleased you have chosen us for care during your pregnancy, delivery and the postpartum period. Below are links to information and topics that you may find useful during the course of your pregnancy. You will receive copies of these and more at your first visit as well.

Congratulations! Whether you are beginning your first pregnancy or already have children, your pregnancy is an exciting time. We are very pleased to be able to provide you with professional medical care and advice at this special time. This preliminary message will help answer many of your questions. Please feel free to call the office any time you have questions.

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We do close for the traditional holidays. If you need urgent medical care when our office is closed, you may call our main number (757) 425-1600, and you will be connected to our answering service.  Alternatively, you may call our physicians’ answering service directly at (757) 875-9270 if you are unable to get through to our office after hours. Our answering service will contact the physician on call. If you need to call the physician, it is helpful if you can make the call yourself. It is sometimes difficult to understand messages relayed through another person and often they cannot answer the necessary questions.

The physicians practice as a group and would like to meet each obstetrical patient prior to delivery. In addition, our physician assistant and our nurse practitioner are available to perform prenatal care and patient education. We encourage you to meet each of the physicians at least once during your pregnancy. However, if you so desire, you may choose to see only one physician. The physician on call will care for you during your labor and delivery.

The physicians encourage you to take prepared childbirth classes. Hospital tours are also offered for expectant parents. The information on classes and tours is included in your obstetrical packet. We admit our obstetrical patients to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital on Glenn Mitchell Drive. Thank you for choosing Virginia Beach Obstetrics and Gynecology. We look forward to taking care of you and helping you maintain a healthy and pleasurable pregnancy.
